The important factors affecting the life of the lock

Hardware lock, it is the most frequent thing that contacts in our daily life, but, a lot of people think, after buying a door lock or hardware in the home, can need not maintain, until use bad, can change new. In fact, hardware locks need to be maintained in daily use.

Hardware lock maintenance is divided into several parts, many aspects of maintenance can keep the service life of the door lock greatly increased:

1. Lock body: as the central position of the door lock structure, the opening and closing of the hand lock is smooth. It is necessary to often ensure that the lubricant is in the transmission part of the lock body, so that the rotation can be maintained smoothly and the service life can be prolonged. It is recommended to check every six months or every year, and check whether the fastening screws are loose to ensure tightness.

2. Lock (lock core) : lock core in the process of use, a year or half a year after the purchase of the door lock, or when the key is not smooth in the process of turning, you can pour a little graphite powder or pencil powder into the groove of the lock core, so as to ensure that the key is smooth, and will not be a card when turning. However, do not add any other oil for lubrication, because over time, the oil will solidify and stick to the pin spring inside the lock core, resulting in the lock core can not be turned and can not be opened.

3. Frequently check the clearance between the lock body and the lock gusset plate, the clearance between the lock tongue and the lock gusset plate hole is appropriate, and the clearance between the door and the door frame is the best 1.5mm-2.5mm. If any change is found, the position of the hinge or lock plate on the door should be adjusted. At the same time, pay attention to the cold contraction and heat expansion caused by the weather (wet in spring, dry in winter), to ensure that the gap between the door and the door frame, the lock body and the lock gusset plate is reasonable, to ensure the smooth use of the lock.
